Puri Rath Yatra 2020 – Cancelled by Supreme Court, Entire Odisha Downhearted

As we all know the entire world is shattered because the Covid-19 Pandemic and India had the highest daily cases which are around 12000 in a single day.

Honorable Supreme Court today stayed the Jaganath Puri Rath Yatra which is celebrated every year with thousands of devotees from around the world.

A huge gathering can not take place during the pandemic, said the chief justice today.

He also added, “Lord Jagannath won’t forgive us if we allow this year’s Rath Yatra aka Car Festival to go on.”

The bench also advised state govt not to allow any yatra or processions to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

This order came out after a petition was filed by Odisha based NGO, that was seeking a stay order on the Car Festival which gathers millions of devotees in “BADA DANDA” Puri.

As we all know that Rath Yatra or Car Festival is celebrated in Puri every year and Bhakts from all over wold gather to celebrate this auspicious occasion.

The news of stay order on Rath Yatra has saddened the entire world and the people of Odisha are disheartened because Jagannath is known to be the supreme deity and the most worshiped lord of Odiya people.

This year Rath Yatra was suppose to be celebrated on 23rd June 2020.
